Cannabis and Psychosis

Last blog was all about medicinal Marijuana, so it seems a natural and logical next step for me to highlight the risks of getting psychoses. Let it be clear that not everyone is vulnerable to having psychoses after using cannabis though recent studies show that using cannabis increases the chance of having psychoses only when people are genetically sensitive to it.Smoking marijuana at a young age also increases the risk of having trouble with psychoses in a later stage, this is because the brains are still developing and they keep doing that until after the age of 20 years. The cannabinoide system in the brain is influenced by active substances contained in hashes and weed, if it gets too worked up it will disturb the development in other parts of the brain what could and probably will lead to permanent damage.Cannabis also effects the natural dopamine in your brains, smoking cannabis could lead to an increased breakdown of dopamine in the anterior brain areas if smoked by genetically  sensitive people. The chance of having a psychoses is very likely to everyone who begins smoking cannabis at a young age. Some parents make the mistake to compare the weeds they smoked in the 60's with the weeds that are available now.  The THC content is much higher than in the early days so an open mind is never wrong but keep in mind this fact. You can never tell exactly how much THC cannabis contains, it mostly depends on how the cannabis has been treated while growing and blooming and if the strain is strong.THC content changes from 5% to 20 %, every bud is different !For example Amnesia mostly contains about 20% THC , Early Misty contains 5% to 10%.Knowing all this could make you more careful and that is never a bad thing but also don't forget to enjoy the buds and know what is best for you !
